What appears below is the introduction from the book:

Introduction

Welcome to Volume Two of “The Weird, the Wonderful, the Absurd, the Ridiculous or is it?” Thank you for choosing this book.

This volume was created when a decision was made to split the contents of the title into two books. A favourite book-ending poem in the first part determined the division between the two volumes.

The majority of poems with some exceptions, were written in 2009. The exceptions are one poem which appears to be totally out of context, one poem from 2005 that sneaked in at the last moment, and the last poem in this volume. The unusual poem was added, when it was decided to split the title into two volumes, and is part of a tradition which started with my first book, and continues to this day.

One of the many challenges in creating my collection of books has been choosing their colours. In the case of these two volumes, the choice came in a most unusual way.

At the same time, as I was starting to create these books, I was also using the contents of the unusual poem in this volume, to create something else. So there is a direct connection between the colour of these books and the unusual poem in this volume.

What was I creating? What is that poem? Delve a little and see if you can answer these questions.

What you have before you is a collection of poems that vary in subject, content, length, ideas, and beliefs. There are only two poems in this volume that may be considered related. The rest have no pattern, no synchronicity, and no theme connecting them.

The poems appear in the order in which they were written, with the exception of the poems mentioned on the previous page.

It is hoped that this book is a whimsical look at life through my weird sense of humour. Most of the poems are obscure in thought, weird in subject, and tongue-in-cheek in their content.

These two volumes are the penultimate project of a journey that has created twelve books of this size, and complete my small book collection of poetry.

The final project on this journey is a multi-volume larger-sized book series. It looks back over my entire collection of poetry, and is to be called “The Definitive Collection.”

Meanwhile, what you have before you, is one of my “weird” books. Read a little, get a sense of what it might be about, and then decide if it is for you. Either way is okay with me, and I do hope you find something of value in what follows. (Please note, you do not need to read volume one before reading this book.)

I now invite you to read the second volume of “The Weird, the Wonderful, the Absurd, the Ridiculous or is it?”

Correction

Page 71, first stanza, fifth line replace:
"over 115200 minutes," with "over 42 million minutes," (a calculation error - oops).
