"A Spiritual Digest was first published on 30 October 2009. Its size
is approx. 10.5 cm (4.13") wide by approx. 14.8 cm (5.83") long,
(also known as A6), and approx. 9 mm (5/16") thick. It should easily
fit into a purse or even a back pocket. It contains 22 poems spread
over 132 pages.
What appears below is the introduction from the book:
Welcome to “A Spiritual Digest,” my tenth book. Thank you for
choosing this book.
What you will find in this book is a collection of poems written
from 2002 to 2008, all of which deal to some degree with spirit,
being spiritual, or spirituality.
At the outset, I would like to inform you that I have no formal
qualifications in spirituality. I am not a minister of religion, and
I am not training to be one.
My only connection to religion is that, from time to time, I have
attended a small spiritual church in a regional city of Australia.
At the same time, none of the poems found in this book are directly
related to any experiences at that church.
You will also find that there is only an occasional mention of
religion or God.
This book was not created as, or is it considered, a religious text.
In essence, it shares some ideas and thoughts on our connection to
life.
The words found in this book are mine, and as such, they are not
based on any research of other texts, books, or material.
I do not claim, now or ever, to be a conduit of any higher presence
or other possible being.
As with any book that I create, there is one poem that is out of
place. It is intended to be so, if anything, just to change the
pace, give you another perspective, or even to generate a smile.
The order of poems is somewhat arbitrary, and was chosen on the
basis that it seemed appropriate at the time.
As with most of my previous books, it is fully anticipated that you
will be able to open this book to any poem and read what is there,
to see, if this book is for you.
I am the first to admit that I do not have the answers for you. I
offer this book as an example of some thoughts and ideas that may
help you along your path in life.
In conclusion, we are all independent souls with our own ideas. As
such, what you find here is only one perspective. Seek out what you
want to believe and find the direction in life that you want to
travel.
I now invite you to read “A Spiritual Digest.”
